We're off…

  • Well, not quite yet, but soon. Just getting ready now to give Keoki a pre-show bath, then we're heading out after lunch for the EBC show in Auburn this afternoon. We have to give plenty of travel time due to unpredictable but seemingly constant road construction on I-5.

Keoki has never been tested – Bryan couldn't make it over to give him a trial work-out as one of their pups is ill -- so he's going into the ring as green as they come. Should be verrrrry interesting. LOL We'll see if this is a "what a good boy!" day or a "Geez, you're full of piss and vinegar today" day.

By this evening I'll either be a proud mama pointing and saying "That's MY boy!" ,:D or I'll be staring into the ring in horror saying aloud, "Wow, whose puppy is THAT?" hee hee

  • Good luck and good showing! More importantly, have fun!:)

  • Lots of luck!!!!!!!!!

  • Good luck, and have fun!

  • Keoki did fairly well today, he did stop and appear to pose in the middle of the ring for a stranger w/a camera. Bryan had to coax him as he appeared to want to stand and really study that lady. It was cute…. onlookers giggled.:)

He got 3rd :D out of I think 6. His brother Bandit {a lovely little tri-boy} got 2nd.:)

@mmitch777: Thx all. We really did not expect to win anything. We entered just because they were not too far away and wanted to get some show experience. She looks cute in the pictures but she is so naughty, I sort of wish she was not so smart :) Congratulations! She sure is a pretty girl. We all can sympathize with your last statement - they are clever to a fault, most times too quickly clever for us to catch up in time! I used to think age would calm them but no longer believe that to be true. :)

Great article, I could have done with some of the lightweight clothing while climbing Pan Y Fan and Corn Du (Brecon Beacons) last week. We are just back from a week in Wales and we took in the show.

@youngandtired: To me that expression in the first pic looks like he is saying, "What's up everyone this is a piece of Cake! I love these pictures, and I can't believe how he has grown, seems like just yesterday you were posting pictures of your new puppy. He is very handsome, and I love the stacking. How do you teach them to do that!!!!! I would love to teach Sahara that only b/c I love the look, not to show her, I just think it looks so cool. Thanks, and yes – it does seem like just yesterday dh had that weak moment and let me bring another B home. ;) Stacking w/mine has been pretty easy. I do it just like I teach them to sit, etc. I hold a treat and tell them to "stand", and put my hand under the belly to keep them from sitting, tell them "good stand" and give the treat. Once they "get" that, I tell them to "hold" and keep them at a stand for a few seconds -- if they move their legs, I move the legs back and say "hold" again. Once they "get" that, I tell them "hold" and move their legs back a bit into position, telling them "hold". Really, only takes about twenty minutes total to get them to understand "hold".
