@dash: Thanks! We went right after X-mas. We ended up using someone from Craigslist. She was wonderful. I actually have 1 Basenji, 1 Beagle and currently 2 foster Basenjis. So it is a house full. Oh!!! I didn't see the date on your initial e-mail!!! A bit slow, I supposeā€¦.;). Oh well - for future reference.....:)

@Natalplum: Shannon~Thank you so much for the offer. You are an amazing and caring person for even offering. It means so much to me and my family. Without any hesitation you would drive half way and meet me. This alone is an amazing act. I will never forget your kindness. My husband's cousin has offered to take our B and he has another dog which would help. Val Hey no problem. Glad you could find someone you know and who is closer. That will definitely work out better for you. Have a great trip.

I too have flown with a pup in a Sherpaā€¦ one thing, be sure that they have a not been fed right before... and also the longer you can keep the pup awake, the more likely they will sleep the entire time. I kept the pup up and playing for at least 3 hours before the flight... and I do mean playing hard.. (I was pretty tired too...)I also did a 5+ hour flight, no accidents. But a friend of mine had a great idea... and it does work, take along some puppy wee/wee pads... you can go into the bathroom, put down the pad on the floor and let the little one go... however with as short of a flight you are doing, I doubt it will be necessary....
