  • Abbey grabbed a mouse in the grass this morning. We were going to the mailbox when she spotted him and pounced before he could get away. She grabbed him and threw him about 10 feet, then Mouse scampered under the hedge ( I was too busy having a heart attack to be sure where he went). Brave Abbey saved mom from the mouse but she ain't getting any more good night kisses!

  • lol I remember one time Mali ate a cockroach… my sister saw her munching on something and you know how you always go over and check to make sure they don't have anything bad. it went something like this....

"Mali? what do you have?" -opens Mali's mouth, gasps, lets go and starts to freak out- "Ew Ew Ew Ew....Mali that's gross!!!"

lol it was funny yet disgusting... needless to say I didn't kiss Mali for a while after that.

  • LOL LOL that is HYSTERICAL!!! :D

  • Little hunters, aren't they? Rosey has caught several small birds, but unfortunately I was unable to save any of them by the time I could catch her.

  • Ours just love Voles, they must be tasty they seem to really like them. The worst was when five of them played with an adult rabbit in their yard…........we haven't had an easter egg delivered since.:D

    The are certainly hunters!;)

  • oh the poor Cadbury bunny! no more tasty chocolate eggs for your family…

  • @iluvmali:

  • lol… energizer...

  • oh no, i have a worse story, MINE (grrr) was found trying to eat a cat poo, from the litter box!! NASTY!! why Jack…why

  • Yes–the sign of a devoted basenji parent is when you will dig chewed up cat poop out of your B's mouth with your bare hands--ewwwwwww!!!!! My vet explained to me that because of cats' digestive systems, their poop can smell/taste like food to a dog. I always had to keep an eye on Max on our walks because we had a lot of stray cats around.

  • well i had to use rubber dish washing gloves my neighbor had (her cat her house) its was AWEFUL then almost as soon as he got "a talking to" he did it again. MAN hes evil sometimes…grrr. and SO sneeky!!

My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.
