I am not sure I see anything that would make me think Basenji, but he sure is darling. The DNA tests are pretty good for giving the top 2 or 3 breeds. Thank you for rescuing!

My B does that same style of sitting... where his front legs are on the floor and his butt is on the furniture or stairs! :)

Pugs have a curly tail and short tan hair with black face markings. Maybe he is some sort of pug mix. Hard to say. I don't see basenji. He's a cutie. Love him regardless.
