    One of my favorite photos of my basenji Kembe. She loves to sit on her heated pad @ the picture window. This photo happen to be taken on FLAG DAY! How appropriate with the basenji silhouette!

  • You should submit that for the BRAT calendar contest. Awesome picture.

  • What an incredible photo! Thank you for sharing.

  • @kembe Gorgeous photo! I am unable to see the coloring, is it Chestnut & White or a Tri? I would definitely submit this for consideration. When my Dog was 1 year old she Modeled a $14,500.00 Queen Anne Dog Bed for Forbes Magazine. She was 'Paid' $150.00 for the 15 minutes it took to get the Photo. Forbes got more calls about my Dog than that ridiculous Dog Bed. Antigone was a Tri with a Bandit Mask...

    ::)

    Thanks for the kind comments. Kembe is chestnut and white.

  • @kembe You are so lucky to have such a gorgeous dog! I have had many dogs throughout my life and each lived for a long time. Having said that, the Bs are my favorite! Mine did not Yodel until a year before she died, but she did Baroo all the time. They are absolutely fascinating and worth every single second that you have one.

    House destruction can be managed and one must understand the concept of Separation Anxiety. That was a small challenge for me because I brought my Puppy everywhere including on the Train into NYC. She was an excellent traveler and fell asleep in her crate when we were driving. She was so well behaved she slept in my Office when I went to Court. :)

    Hi everyone, Thanks for all of your replies! Rex just had his first vet visit (first with me at least), and he was given a clean bill of health. The vet that I saw also agrees with a lot of you that he looks like a Min Pin more than a Basenji, but he is likely still mixed with something because he's a bit too big to be a pure Min Pin. I've looked at a few DNA Dog Breed tests online, and they seem to range in price and in quality. It seems like some of the cheaper (~$50) tests are fake, but they go all the way up to almost $250 for the higher quality ones. Do any of you have experience with these DNA tests / have a brand you found reputable? I'll be sure to post the results of any of the tests with this forum! Thanks again, and Rex is doing really great in his new home!! [image: 1559586518913-img_3707-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586546977-img_3720-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586568474-img_3708-resized.jpg]

    She is really cute though I don't see Basenji. Like Shirley said, only a DNA can tell you much for certain.

    The rescue girl who would get out of the invisible fence and had a high prey drive also had a thing for a bull. She was lure coursing near Ft. Worth TX and the field was near where the cattle was fenced in at. She went crazy and wanted to go after this huge steer/bull through the fence. I believe it was a TX Longhorn. One kick from him and she would have been history! Jennifer

    We got Killian from a breeder in Ohio–-Jim Edgerton. That's where he had gotten our previous male basenji. We took Logan and Jasmine to his place and looked at several 1 year olds and a puppies and Jasmine eliminated the others and we agreed with her pick.

    lol yea most basenji's are actually yodelers i was just messing with the harmonica one time and she came up to me and sat down next to me and started to sing. The spoon was funny it happened once and it was her way of telling us that she hasnt been fed. When she grabbed the spoon im asking my mom maybe shes hungry? and my mom says oh right she hasnt been fed yet, she didnt want to give back the spoon though
