Hi!

I am a 31 year old active woman living in Los Angeles and looking to adopt a young (~ 9mo - 1 year old) Basenji/Basenji Mix.

What is the best place to look in Los Angeles or surrounding areas (willing to drive if necessary to adopt right one for sure)?

We rescued our current B from Medfly - just north of LA. Karen at Medfly was wonderful to work with and we love our little girl!

Jennifer, I meant Pam the breeder here in MA… I figured this might be one of her boys because of proximity to each other... If this is an Eldorado boy then Pam will definitely want to intervene and get the dog back. I emailed her the link and she will deal with it if it's one of hers.

Has anyone e-mailed the seller to find out what these dogs have been used for? Were they breeding dogs and where did they live? Is there anyone with experience with these types of dogs that could take a look at them and lives closer? Does anyone know their pedigree or at least sire and dam? They are of the age that Fanconi usually strikes.

I am concerned since breeding season is coming up and it looks like they all live in the same kennel. I find this unusual but perhaps the owners do not have a lot of kennels.

Its fine that you might want to protect yourself on any list.
I think what your doing, well, its good that YOU get the credit.
Re rescue booth work. Its really something I make time for in the PNW.
My all breed dog club goes to areas, and I am there.
I even do the Bull's Eye pit bull rescue booth, and I have to tell you, I have seen more
attitude with a lot of b's than I did with these lovely PB..but that is of topic.
Anyway, we admire you, Brenda or Melissa, just let us know how we should address you.

We shall see just how much hekp this little guy really gets from this forum. I called and found out that he was a puppy back 04 when he was adopted from Wayside Waifs and now family has a baby why no longer want him. She said the boy sometimes gets like to be a little stronger over other dogs. I do not care what people think of me or were Jaycee came from it's not me needing help its the the little guy. Actions have always been stronger than words.
Gald to see Otis is well and happy.
