    The vet gave me a few packets of Purina Veterinary Diets Fortiflora when Paolo had gastritis as he was throwing up back in January. It took care of it quickly. Last week he was throwing up at mid night as before. I started giving him this product again (I bought it on Amazon) and the first night I gave it to him it took care of it. It will take care of any diareaha too. As long as it's not a serious illness this product works great. Paolo has a sensitive stomach.

    This is something you can give daily also, I used it daily when C-Me was in whelp and also after she had the pups, since she was eating high protein and high fat. It is a great probiotic… but I have used human brands too

    I second the Fromms! Loved it, the company is so transparent, easy to reach and very willing to help you with questions and concerns- so aside from being grain free and of good quality..its a win-win I was forced to switch because Oakley has very specific dietary needs and unfortunately Fromms doesnt make a low protein, grain free option (I wish they did).     First, I want to say that my B has liver disease, not kidney…but he is also supposed to be on a low protein diet. He was diagnosed at age 11...he is 15 now! The vet initially suggested Science Diet, and Senji would rather starve to death than eat that, but I digress. To get to the point, I cook for him. Usually boiled chicken or turkey, white meat or legs. The organ meat or red meat stresses his liver. I add rice and vegetables to the broth. He grew up eating mostly Pedigree, but they keep changing the formula. I put a little bit of dry dog food down and then the rice/meat mixture on top. If he doesn't eat the dry dog food, he tends to get runny stools. Throw in any vegetable you think your B will eat, such as carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, etc. (No mushrooms or onions!)He also likes to eat scrambled egg, cottage cheese or yogurt. Occasionally, he'll eat some white fish or salmon too. His coat looks great and he still runs around like a pup!

    I tried answering via my phone, but I guess it didn't work. I usually don't measure but mix it all into their meats, or kibble if they are on it. They love quinoa, shoot they love anything coming from the kitchen..:) Usually a few times a week, to maybe three times a week, veggies they get daily and green smoothies, at least Otis, he adores my green smoothies.

    Giardia can actually be very difficult to clear up. What medication did the vet use? Did they keep prescribing the same medication or did they try something else to see if Benga responded better to another? I know that with Nicky we had tried Flagyl but it would recur and then tried Panacur and it finally cleared up. As for the food if you are looking for something less rich, try California Natural. It is made by the same company as Evo but is not as rich as Evo.

    Maybe there's some mineral imbalance. Check out Dinovite on the web. It contains different earth clays and probiotics.
