Wanted Adult In Upstate NY

Basenjis For Sale or Wanted
  • I just lost my best friend my male Basenji that has lived with me for over 15 years. He was a rescue and had some trauma before I got him. He did not ride in cars, could not crate him, had no tolerance for anyone touching his paws awoke grouchy, and other typical bad Basenji traits but I loved him regardless. I am in my 50's live in my own home, work from home as a travel agent and have no other animals. I know a lot about Basenjis and they are the only breed for me. I fed him an organic diet that consisted of grains, fresh veggies, and daily cooked meats. He walked 2 to 3 times a day for exercise and sleep in my bed, under the covers. I live in upstate NY, in the country and would love to share my own with another B as soon as possible. Thanks Glenn

It isn't that expensive to ship... and I suggest if you can't save up .... what happens if the puppy gets hurt or sick? Can you really handle the vet bills? There are, however, breeders in Texas and Oklahoma. The problem is that many breeders have waiting list for puppies, so you may well have to wait a year if you only want a female and a young puppy. If you'll take older, many breeders may have 6 mos or older that didn't work out for their showing or breeding program... or puppies that were placed and didn't work out. Also, rescues.. are they not an option? http://www.basenji.org/joomla/index.php%3Foption%3Dcom_content%26view%3Dcategory%26layout%3Dblog%26id%3D111%26Itemid%3D94 Look to left, click on other nearby states. I think that many adopters would pay for the cost. And add to that if it is a situation that a person has contacted BRAT to give up the dog and he/she is not tested then they should be required to put up that fee. I think that BRAT does an excellent job in most respects, however this is one point that I really disagree with not testing. I am not sure that they would agree to test even if people covered the cost

I think they're trying to look legit! Knowing that most "ethical" breeders ask a good amount for our dogs (course mind you we have a lot of money stuck into our dogs prior to the "sale" price). And the fact that we're not into dogs to make money.
