Hey Everyone,

The Basenji Club of America is now on Facebook. We will be using the page to help promote awareness of BCOA to current basenji owners and potential basenji owners that may not be familiar with the club and all the information that it can provide.

So if you are on Facebook, please like the page and share it. And if you do, please share some pictures of your basenjis on the page. We will be using fan photos as the cover photo of the page.

From what I've gathered, the dog is in a Basenji experienced home and she can stay there as long as she has to. The people that are caring for the dog have contacted know breeders in the area and have placed ads in the newspaper and online. Members from BRaT and Basenji Club of America have this cross posted. There are a lot of people, local and internationally, trying to help this Basenji girl find her way home.

Tommy I have a similar brush and that is probably the best one I have found to remove hair and he enjoys the massage it gives, at least his hair is heavy enough to stay on the ground not like the Cornish rex we have, his hair is like dust it get's everywhere, don't need extra fibre in our food during shedding time, I'm sure we must ingest an amount YUCK!!, should of got a Sphinx cat and a Mexican hairless dog.

I am with JazzysMom… I never barracade my tree... and we never did it when I was growing up either. The only thing my dogs do is eat the candy canes... so what... no different than the licorice I share with them!

This morning, Cha Cha was chasing the IG back behind the tree and that was his "hiding place" from her.

I do remember growing up that the only time anything was taken off the tree was when I would hang dog bones on it 😃 Now, who can blame them for scaling the tree then?? :eek:

We have our presents on the dining table right now... only because I was setting up a "background" for puppy pictures and then if I move them to below the tree... where is Preston/IG going to run and hide after he steals the basenjis toys??

Caesar started doing this around 4yrs old, or I started noticing it then….the chewing licking air after dinner for a while?

I massage his jaw at the back and it loosens the food. He was officially ready for a teeth cleaning (big bucks) at age 5 and probably had that problem all of his life. Teeth were all fine.

Now, after dinner, he comes to me to rub the back area of his jaw to get the food out. He must feel a real difference now that his teeth are clean. I dont ever stick my fingers inside his mouth, just rub the outside and it is good enough.

I feed Caesar Innova Evo and Natural Balance Duck and Potato back and forth.

This is what dogs do, I wouldn't be embarassed in the least, I am sure they are use to this. It would be worse if you took your kid to the doctor and they peed on them. haha!!!!
