Floyd: Related to GA Pups?

  • Hi, all:

This was forwarded to me by email. I just read through the thread about the Georgia pups that have been recovering from Parvo. Perhaps this little guy is related to them? He's in a foster and could use a forever home.

    Cheers!

  • According to Erika, Floyd was found the same day and within 2 hours of the other 6 pups but in a different area. Since he is about the same age as the other pups there is a strong possibility that he may be related to the other pups and from the same owner. Floyd is in a different foster home than the 6 and will be rehomed by BRAT.

  • Thank you, Ms. Robyn. I dearly hope he does not have to fight what the others did. Perhaps the "breeder" will own up (yeah, right) or just stop breeding. I know, but one can always hope, can't she?

  • Floyd is adorable. Let's send out the right message into the cosmos so he will be adopted by a loving family.

  • Yes, lets all hope he falls into loving hands.

  • Well, he is in a Basenji rescue so he stands a pretty good chance.

I rescued a young Sheltie/Basenji mix many years ago from a Columbus OH shelter for BEAR-Basenji Education and Rescue. She was trouble for the shelter and was kept in a separate area. She loved to lure course and she also would go after balls and bring them back to you! Looked just like a Basenji but with longer fur and her tail was not tightly curled. Dr. Tracy used to joke that we could trim her and get an ILP number from AKC! She found an excellent home. Jennifer

Robyn, THANK YOU for the update! Do you have any leads on the needed kennel? I have several friends near Atlanta that may be able to help out… another thought: do you think the Atlanta news station would carry the story? ;) I am so glad you are dedicated to these lovely dogs. Patty.

Ms. Vicki, you are the greatest! I've been thinking about this boy since you posted him. It's really cool you're giving your time and experience to rehome him properly. With your patience and the assistance of your wagging-tailed brood, you should have him turned around in no time!:) Hey, tomorrow's Thursday…any word on this boy?

@vickilb: Wow, Vicki, I guess I like to pretend that stuff doesn't really happen.:confused: I wish she was found already and sleeping under the covers with her human…:o:o:o I will send good wishes her way. Still can't believe she got loose.... Sometimes the forum is like watching the news. We all here love our animals and the news is not always good and can be depressing especially when we can't do anything.:(
