Wow, she's only 12.6 lbs and they couldn't handle her energy? They probably couldn't even take for a walk I'll bet. She's a great looking B.
I just wish sometimes that we could find these people and help them BEFORE they turn in their dogs.

Or before they buy one to begin with….
Wow, she sure looks pretty. I hope she finds a very basenji knowledgable family..
I am trying to reach them to at least help screen homes if they won't release her. She is about 4 hours from me and I really don't have anyplace to put her but I'll worry about that later.
For any of you in the POrtland area - I'll be out there Fri night and leaving early Sun - Sat at the Rose City Classic.

Exactly! It must of been chosen for the short coat, small size and doesn't bark options. Then they have it for a while and it's "Oh my it's really energetic and we can't handle that". These people forget that they were like that as kids.

And the fact that it is a pup, regardless of breed, they are energetic… period
People who get these b's because they remember them as "kids" were at school, and then doing their other sports….they didn't "tend' the dogs as the adults did....
I wanted to get Roo but I have a couple family members that have been ill and don't want to have to board a newly arrived furry friend. So … we will wait to adopt again.
