I took her to te vet, and she got all hershots and she is perfectly healthy, I will post pictures soon!!! You should see the wayshe eats!! She swallows 2 cups of kibble in three seconds!!! , and here is Ayo, the spoiled brat, who just looks at the food, uninterested!!!

Congratulations to all of the dogs and your daughters, sounds like they had a wonderful time. Good size entries too!

My Rufus was a little 'B' when he was in puppy (still can be if he feels like it) we entertained everybody with his antics, it does get better!

I totally agree with Jess about over washing - after all basenjis are perfectly good at keeping themselves reasonably clean and shouldn't need bathing every week - in my opinion too it's not good for the coat.

I'm wary of using a dremel and sometimes when one of you are dremelling at a show when I'm there I'd be grateful if you'd show me how you do it! I brought a dremel a few years ago and its still in its box unused!!!

The secret to the dogs co-operating with the dremel is bribery! Mine queue up because they want the treat.

I use the Dremel all the time at home, I have 4 B's that aren't shown at the moment! If its an indoor show and you just briefly dremel the nails they look super clean when they go in the ring!

I'm looking to a future Scott, with all you newer Basenji breeders now, when there are many more dogs and owners in Scotland - after all the Scottish numbers have certainly improved. The distances you all have to travel to shows are horrendous in my opinion.

At present there are too many clubs for the numbers of Basenjis being shown - it's exceedingly difficult to get good Committee members as I well know! Each club has come to a point at sometime when there is/was a real shortage of people willing to serve on committees. The NBS worse than all as it has twice almost closed for want of a secretary - Connie and I decided to propose Les and now the club has gone from strength to strength.
