@karann - The key in my opinion is to visit with Basenjis before you get one... Of course I always recommend that regardless. But for allergies, ask the owners to prepare a small towel that the Basenjis will sleep on for a few days... take that home and put it under your pillow.... will give you a good idea if your allergies will kick up

I love to hear and see dog park pictures, especially when it's a basenji I have helped find her forever family. Kizzie is such a gorgeous girl. I really love her eyes!

Good pictures, Triciaw - we really do have a nice time at the dog park, and your girls make a wonderful addition. Hope to see you as many Sundays as possible.

Kongo (Afrika) plans to come next Sunday, it will be fun if he and Kizzie get to see each other.
And we also had Flash, one of Kenyatta's pups, bottle fed from birth. He is a very cool boy and had a blast playing with a b-mix, Coco.
So we have several of the Wimauma pups that come from time to time, Butler (Batboy), Kongo, Kizzie, Flash and don't forget Guppy!
Nice to get a every changing supply of new basenjis in our Sunday-Senji group. Basenjis have such nice humans, too!

the other animals needed some face time
The first picture is of a "Serval" and no I don't own him, however they are used in the breeding program for my other cats which are "Savannahs". I beleive my cat "Silver" is able to better relate to Kizzie as they are both a bit wild! With Silver is "Zahara". I also have another cat "Taz" for the next post.
-
Silver has become Kizzies favorite non B friend. Kizzie has not met the horse (Shadow) yet, as he lives off site at a stable. He is the bay thourobred -the first one in the horse pictures. Taz is the big black and white cat and the other cat is "Zahara". As you can see Kizzie has lots of "friends".:D

Lovely cats, Triciaw - Kizzy should be very well socialized with everything, getting to know all your animals. She's a sweetheart.

Lovely to see pictures of the whole family!

Well Kizzie appears to be a Houdini. I am using that special collar/harness that goes around the neck and under the armpits. (as I was told they are supposed to be basenji proof) Well she got out of it during our walk two nights ago. She got panicked by a person in the area and just backed right out of it. To say I was panicked but KNOW bettter than to chase her would be an understatement. I "acted" calm/normal as she trotted in the other direction. Then Pikachu and I did an about face and headed back to the house. (Needless to say- Kizzie beat us home and was waiting on the porch) thank-goodness she apparently loves us!!! As we LOVE her dearly as well.

Oh, that is scary…glad it ended well.
-
Wow, how wonderful that she has bonded with you! And you were so wise to overcome the urge to go after her. I think that seeing your dog get loose is one of the most awful feelings ever. So glad she is safe and sound with you.

I just clicked the wrong link and unsubscribed by accident. Do I need to start over to re-subscribe?

Well this Sunday is going to be the Rays game. Everyone is telling me how lucky I am to be going to a sold out game (but I would rather be going to the dog park) I do beleive Kizzie and Pikachu would agree! Hope to go next Sunday!
-
There will be lots of Sundays, don't worry, just enjoy the game.

Kizzie is doing great. Shown here with her sister Pikachu.

Lovely pictures - they are obviously enjoying their eats!
