Can anyone explain to me how to teach Growl?

  • Knipper: Kicked him in the head???:eek::eek:

I'd have done more than tear just a stripe out of her. My stomach turns to knots just thinking of someone kicking a dog in the head!:mad:

Can't say I blame Blaze at all for growling at her and meaning it.

Too bad about kids, though. :( It makes me sad the things folks can do to change a dog's attitude.

Their web site has links to e books for pretty much any breed you can name, and the description of the book is identical (except for the breed name) for all of them. I am guessing not worth the money. http://www.obedient-dog.net/breed-training-ebooks/

to earn a JC you run a two JC trials, which are just a single run, by yourself. You could run Sat and Sun and potentially earn a JC. Running JC is a good way to learn.

@Tayda_Lenny: yeah, I saw that too.. but then why call it "early" entries… if really that is the only time to enter? Oh well... Exactly.. that would be my question too….. really confusing... maybe that is how they always do their premiums, but it is really confusing to new people.... and I have seen many a premium in my day...gggg

@agilebasenji: So perhaps he wasn't shredding his bedding because he was stressed. He was probably shredding it because it's fun! Apparently, it is fun! Mine doesn't take the bedding out the door of the crate, she prefers to pull it through the wires and drags the crate halfway across the room. I'm picking my battles with her as she has had a rough life. When I say "No.." my girl gives me that wrinkled forehead look as if to say, "whatever…" and goes off to find something else that is entertaining.

I trained Zenu to use the bell as well, but I dont have a fenced yard so it means me getting her leash and taking her out for a walk. I can usually tell if she needs to go pee or poo or just wants to go for a walk and look under parked cars for cats, and if she's being silly about it I just tell her, "no you already went out" and she'll give up after a few rings. If she can be distracted from the bell with a ball or rawhide stick its a pretty clear indication that she doesnt really need to go to the bathroom, she's just bored and wants to do stuff. Usually she doesnt even need to ring it since we're on a good routine of walks throughout the day, but this morning she had a bit of diarrhea and she woke me up at 5:00am and ran right to the back door and rang the bell several times to let me know it was Very Serious and Can We Please Hurry. So, even if you ignore him sometimes when he rings the bell, he'll probably still ring it to let you know if its a real emergency.
