Problems after death of of them….

    Hello,
    I've got big problem: I have 2 basnejis (10 years old dogs - brothers) which after sudden death of third one (found dog-girl), they scream hours and hours when they are home alone… I have never this kind a problems - I care a lot's of found dogs, cats...they stay home for 6-8hours without problems...

    Now I take them everywhere - work, shopping, go outs... But I have to think about my poor neighbours...
    What I have to do??? I don't know what to do...
    Any suggestions are very welcome.

    I agree with telling them you are leaving. Sneaking out can result in panicked looking for you, which is not a good thing.

    we tried a steroid doseage for 2 plus years and did not offer enough relief to continue on that therapy.

    Ouch, glad we don't have them here, Kaiser's first encounter with something prickly was a huge prickle he happened to step in and then he squealed so I can imagine how he would handle quills in the nose. Glad he is ok, their noses seem to heal quickly as Kaiser has had a few hits from the cat which have bled and can never see the damage. Jolanda and Kaiser

    I got my dehydrator at a farm & fleet store for about $50. It is basic but has temperature. I make a lot of jerky now. It is really easy. Beef jerky from ground beef is my favorite. I can make sticks of it which can be broken or cut up easily into training treat sized pieces. I highly recommend getting one. Plus you can use it too.

    I have had a couple of basenjis that howled occasionally in their sleep. That is really spooky, a long, low mournful howl, sitting up but asleep. I have never heard one scream while asleep. Our first screamer would do it to let you kow where he was, and that he wanted you to come to him. Sounds like what your boy did in the middle of the night! And it is nothing like a howl or yodel, it is a bloodcurdling scream! Anne in Tampa
