We are hoping this is surely a trusted source... Alas, AKC lists breeders who have paid to be listed. There is NO vetting. Please apply due diligence in choosing your breeder. You should spend almost as much time researching the breeder (and the sire and dam) as you have the breed of dog. The breeder can let you know much of the pup's temperament and potential character.     Also if you contact the breeders in the PNW listed on the BCOA site that LVOSS posted some may have puppies/juveniles/adults available. You can also find contact info for basenji fanciers on the Willamette Valley Basenji Club site http://www.basenji-club.com and Evergreen Basenji Club site http://www.evergreenbasenjiclub.org/ Send the folks an email or give them a call to check availability! I wish you luck on your journey to find another basenji companion

    @maxamali: Long story short I am electing to go without surgery and treat with anti-inflammatory medicine as well as a joint supplement. For a joint supplement, I can highly recommend (from personal experience with our previous Basenji, Maxx), Missing Link Plus. It's expensive at places like Petco and PetsMart, but you can find it much cheaper by doing an Internet search.

    Hello and welcome. Maggie looks basenji to me too. I agree with what someone else wrote about the "deer legs." She is gorgeous and very lucky to have you in her life.
