    Please make sure the puppies you sell are clear of fanconis.
    Its an awfull illness and no one wants to have a sick dog.

    While American breeders do indeed often rehome Basenjis once they have finished, ie. become a champion, this is far less prevalent in Europe. Post me privately - my email address is on my website listed in my signature block - and I will put you in touch with breeders for next winter's crop of puppies

There is also a link on how to "vet" breeders, question you should ask. https://www.basenji.org/learn/ScreeningBreeders.htm Also check out health testing yourself. You need to have the registration numbers and/or registration name and you can check at www.ofa.org Here is the link for questions to ask breeders.     Yes, if you want a rescue basenji you really need to be on top of it every day. They go fast, and unfortunately not always to educated homes. The effort is well worth it, though, both in getting a wonderful pup (who may need to work through some issues so you can both be reminded he's wonderful) and in the satisfaction of giving a basenji who's been misunderstood a wonerful forever home. Hang in there. Your pup will find you.
