in 2002 I got to attend westminster. It was a thrill of a lifetime for me, after faithfully tuning into westminster for 15+ years. I happened to mention to my daughter how much I would love to see it in person. She was living in the NY area and gave me tickets to westminster as a christmas present. Not having to get a hotel was a big plus. They sell out so fast. The show was great and even got to pet the basenji that took breed in the benching area. HAVE TONS OF FUN AND ENJOY. It was defintely a big bookmark in the list of things I'd like to do in my life

How come in all the years (100+) of the Westminster Dog Show the sight hounds have only won BIS twice?
At least the fluff dogs haven't won recently (their voodoo must not be working). -

At least my other favorite breed, the ever loveable beagle, won last year. A basenji can't be far away.

Okay, it is getting closer. Does anyone know whose dogs have been invited yet?

I know that my Hippo's (Quercus Taji What In-Carnation) dad, Max, Ch. Platinum's Adrenaline Rush has been invited, but I don't know if he is going.

How cool that a tri won best of breed, and made the group cut!
I'm not prejudiced or anything, living with 2 tris and a black & white. -

I'm not prejudiced or anything, living with 2 tris and a black & white.Actually, the Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, and one of the two Awards of Merit (so three of the four awards given) were given to tris this year :)

I was thrilled to be able to watch the whole thing ringside. There were lots of lovely Bs present. I would not have been able to choose! I took lots of pictures, but most of them are of backsides, lol.

I didn't mean to imply I had seen Ambered's pictures - only that basenji backsides are cute.

okay wish granted, i put them up blurry and backsides and all. I am a horrible photographer. Other people in my family were taking pictures, hopefully they will send them to me and they will be better than mine. (if so, i promise to share)

Cool! You got some good ones in there. I'm excited to go someday now. You only get a glimpse of basenjis if you're lucky on the televised shows. Thanks for sharing.
