@sanjibasenji Thanks for the article on Dog Genome Project - I found it very interesting. I was trying to figure out the interactive Genome wheel. It has the basenji closely related to the Azawakh and rat terrier but I’m still trying to figure out the first wheel which has the basenji listed w/ black/grey starting point. As far as the PBS Dog Tales video - it’s very interesting - it’s season 47 episode 2 - I highly recommend you watch the whole thing (54 minutes).

@Kembe, nice post! We've gone to solid food chopped up in a food processor, but we're grinding it a bit more course as we go. So far, no puppies are choking, but good to know!

The golden I used to have did similar things w/her ears/eyes when I approached w/a leash. It was a habit formed from years of me sliding a new collar on with the leash attached. She'd squint and pull her ears back in anticipation of the collar being slid over her head. The smile? I never got that.

Hey, we must be on the same wave length. I've been watching that first one the last couple of days but hadn't seen #3. Here's the other one that got passed around: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGODurRfVv4 I decided to train Zest to bring my slippers to me. I think it took about 4 clicks for her to catch on. Last night I couldn't toss them around the corner and down the hall fast enough. And I have to say, I have heavy soled slippers, so it's not an easy task for a little girl. But she loves to bring me things. A few nights ago she found a wrapper from tenderloin in the yard. (wind blows a lot around here.) "Thank you Zest. Would like a cookie for that?" "Yes, momma, I'd like a cookie and you can have this prize. I thought you'd like it." She's such a good little girl! Here's pics from last weekend. The first one, the one of the closed tunnel, is from her titling run. So I bought it and now it's in the fridge. http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/ThumbPage.aspx?e=5759087&g=03PG007V23
