    We have been blessed with a bit of a miracle thanks to ALL of your help!! We will be getting a Basenji this season from a Local CT breeder and yes avid tester AMAZING litter!!! (the original breeder we were working with)! Just waiting for the details to come thru!! Ill keep you all posted with ALL the details about our Precious B Baby!! and AGAIN thank you so much for ALL your Advice and Guidance! We needed it! Kira and Geoff Hayes

    Quercus, lvoss, and others are right on target with their advice and I agree with them completely. @Quercus: And FTR there are a BUNCH of breeders in your area…I can't believe none of them directed you to BRAT if they didn't have any dogs available fitting your interest. Quercus is right, Ohio has quite a few responsible, ethical breeders and any of them will refer to other breeders if they have nothing available. I'm not sure how you missed them Dash. I just Googled Basenji Breeder Ohio and most of them came up on the first 2 pages. But no, none of them will have puppies available at all times. No responsible breeder would. Sometimes there will be a wait to get a puppy from a responsible breeder but its well worth it. I do wish you the best with your puppy. It is obvious it is well loved and will be well cared for. :)

    @culturalenigma: Hi all…sorry it's taken so long. I did not end up getting a Basenji - though I really really still want one. I did get a Jack Russell. As I said before, my mother breeds them and like any good breeder, when the people who bought her found out they were pregnant, they no longer wanted the puppy. So she was in need of a home and we were looking for a dog. Anyway, anyone know how a Basenji might get a long with a Jack? :cool: I know people with Jack's and Basenjis.. do just find.. but lots of energy there between the two….
