    I was just watching the news, and today in Macon county Illinois, the authorities found and raided a puppy mill. Now there are over 50 dogs in an Animal Shelter split between Macon and Douglas county. They stated that the owner acted like their was nothing wrong even though there was no food and water and the puppies were crying. They went further to say that there were flies all over, and the smell was unbearable. Most of the dogs were suffering from severe trauma.

    This is just one more story to add to the many of animals suffering at the hands of Irresponsible humans just so they can make the almighty dollar.

    There is a special place in hell for folks who do this to animals.
    I totally believe that.
    I am sad for the dogs, but at least now the are being helped or put out of their pain.

    Sounds like that dog needs a nail trim. (long nails are my pet peeve… that sound on my floor would make me nuts} -Joanne

    So, I guess I couldn't have seen you in my recent trip throught the city of flying pigs (for those unaware, there is one). Two hours of stop and go southbound, trying to get to the airport. I was in the backseat and looked at every truck on the off chance there might be an AJ sighting. Obviously, no luck, as you were a few time zones away :) Had I seen AJ, I might have jumped out of the car I was in and jumped into your truck for a couple of miles…just to say 'Hi'...that's how slow going it was. My advise, for north or southbound, take the by-pass...but what do I know? There were plenty of trucks willing to wade through the traffic.

    @sonnyboy: he's got me twice this week…the other day he chewed my ID badge for work right off my coat. whenever its rainy he rebels! :p You gotta love that Sonny Boy! :D

    Aha!…But I didn't say largest living animals…I was speaking of the Great Grandfathers of Northern California, the Giant Sequoia commonly known as Redwoods. :D

    @Basenjimamma: …Oh, I want one of those generators too..they are just so darn expensive..We need them down here too, if we have a storm, our neighborhood of 25 or so homes are one of the last on the list to get our power back..it sucks.. We do have a generator that is large enough to either run the fridge and a few lamps, OR our waterpump..so you have to pick your battles when the electricity goes.. Yeah, see my problem is I want the whole house automatically on when the power goes out - gone are the days when I find it an adventure! As it is, I've compromised and were only doing the first floor (including all kitchen, laundry, office, bedrooms, bath, basement - furnace, well/water) and the only thing on the 2nd floor will be the bathroom. During the ice storm last winter we lost power for 4 days. During the ice storm of 98 (?) we lost power for 17days - CNN was filming right in front of our house. :eek:
