Will not pee

  • I have a 10 month old female who still has not gone into heat but also will not pee in our yard anymore. A few weeks ago, it was fine. At first I thought it was because it rained recently and the mulch and gravel was wet. It went on for 17 hours one day, another for 12 hours. But, she will pee in our neighbors wet yards regardless of ground materials. Could she be marking? It’s been going on like this for a couple weeks .

  • My B won't pee or poo on my property at all or even in the vicinity, I have to take her for a walk down the road to get her to go. It started around the same sort of time, before that she used to go in the garden or drive no problem.

  • @Saving does she react if another dog pees in the yard?

  • I don't get other dogs in the yard but I do get foxes, she will sniff but isn't bothered.

Had a Corgi at the bark park come up to me, look at me with the cute face Corgis have, then lift his leg and pee all over my shoe. I gave him the same line I give She-Ra: "You're lucky you're so damn cute!" :)

Because she spent so much of her young life in a crate.. it will be a struggle, IMO, for her to get the idea that it is not an acceptable place for pee/poop… time, I think will reverse the behavior, but I would also say that she will "never" be trustworthy in a crate.....

This whole story is so sad and so sweet. This thread really needs a new, more respectful and descriptive title. Even though I understand the desperate frustration in why it was named this at the start. {{{hugs}}} to you, Rocky's forever mom.

thanks to all your suggestions. this is the second day/night now and she has peed outside. She has started to go towards the door when she needs to go to do a pee, so i've let her out..stayed with her until she does (which has been very quick, it used to take 5 or so minutes but now only 5 seconds..which is great!! She gets alot of praise when she does and she is quickly allowed back inside. Fingers crossed it stays that way!! Yes all bedroom & toilet doors shut..i learnt not to let her out of our sight as she is very sneaky??? One more question which i find odd..why is there a need for her to clean up after herself after peeing on the floor or her bed??

Sometimes peeing while turning in a circle is a form of territory marking. It does sound like as he gets more comfortable with the situation, this behavior will stop.
