LOOKING for Female Basenji puppy to 3 years old.

    Live in Long Island, NY. I have an amazing, sweet, loving, friendly Basenji named Louie. We just moved from the city to a big house with big fenced in yard. I would like to find a female puppy to 3 years old. Red and white would be my first choice or black and white. If anyone knows of a breeder that has pups available please let me know.

    I am sure that Zande will chime in with suggestions, but know that this time of year all pups are spoken for with reservations for this years litters... you are most likely looking at possible 2021 pups. Zande can give you some breeder (responsible) suggestions

    Thank you so much but for the last 6 months yes, six months I have not gotten a response from them and those pictures are 2 years old of that sweet pair. That is why we drove to Texas to adopt Enzo our current basenji. We like to adopt older dogs and would love to have another older pup since no one seems to want them. Thank you again. I’m trying pet finder. We are so lucky in Colorado that most of our shelters have a high adoption rate.

    Hello, go to www.basenji.org and search for breeders... by state and there are some from Canada... you are most likely looking at possible breedings for fall/winter of 2020. Note however it is IMPORTANT that you go to a responsible breeder so registration papers are important as many BYB's use other types of registrations that are not registered by AKC or the Canadian Kennel club and you need to follow up on health testing youself... if they are doing responsible health testing before breeding the results are public at www.ofa.org.     I think Tanza is spot on. Not sure where you are, but the Basenji Nationals are in Tucson in November. Assuming it's possible, I can't think of a better way to find a good breeder than to attend.
