Live in Long Island, NY. I have an amazing, sweet, loving, friendly Basenji named Louie. We just moved from the city to a big house with big fenced in yard. I would like to find a female puppy to 3 years old. Red and white would be my first choice or black and white. If anyone knows of a breeder that has pups available please let me know.

It Took Me 1.5 years of looking and talking to breeders before I was able to get on the waiting list in time to get a pup. You have to start preparing and talking to breeders in the early fall in order to get on the reservation list for a puppy by next spring

Hello, go to www.basenji.org and search for breeders... by state and there are some from Canada... you are most likely looking at possible breedings for fall/winter of 2020. Note however it is IMPORTANT that you go to a responsible breeder so registration papers are important as many BYB's use other types of registrations that are not registered by AKC or the Canadian Kennel club and you need to follow up on health testing youself... if they are doing responsible health testing before breeding the results are public at www.ofa.org. Also, keep in mind that most basenji puppies are born between now and the end of January so will not even be ready to pick up until late January into March so it isn't like you are going to hop on a plane tomorrow. You will have time to plan. It also doesn't have to be a long trip, 1-2 days.

Exactly, when we went to Chicago/Cleveland we left Friday and came home Sunday. Had the pups been closer together we could have done it Arriving Saturday and returning Sunday
