Night Howling

    I'm not sure if this is normal as this has never happened since we go the dynamic duo in October.

    A couple of weeks ago I thought I heard very loud howling…so I ran downstairs and they both looked at me like I was crazy. It was in the middle of the night so I figured maybe I dreamt it because all seemed fine.

    Last night we were watching TV with the pooches asleep on the couch. Suddenly TOPAZ lets out this loud howl!! :eek: :eek: And it wasn't a barooo it was a HOWL a long loud HOWLING sound. SO WEIRD :confused:

    But she looked fine so we took them outside for last potty & then to bed in their crates. At 4am :eek: :eek: DH gets up startled & ran downstairs because he heard howling again...but again all was fine except for poor C3PO must have awoken with the noise & then got fussy about going back to bed.

    Anything happen like this to anyone else?? More importantly WHY??

    I started another thread on this awhile back. My Squiggy did this a few times. It was really freaky. I woke up and he was in bed with me and he didnt wake him self up. It took me a moment to realize what was going on. The next time it happened I knew, but WOW the first time!
    It does not happen often and Squiggs is a very quite boy so I enjoy it now. It is like he lets loose all that he didnt say that day :)

    Jenny has done it in her sleep a couple of times. The other day after a 4 mile bike ride, I let her inside for water, and took our labmix to the neighbor's house for a romp off-leash with their big dog. We was gone maybe 7-8 minutes and as we walked back, I could hear Jenny inside making the same howling noise! She was not happy to see us through the window socializing without her!
    She stopped the instant the door opened. :-)

    Sounds like she is letting you know where she is - Lela really (I mean REALLY) howls when she does not know where we are. When we leave our B's alone, we always tell them we are leaving and when we will be back. They understand. We don't use crates.

    Late to the party…as always. But my boy does that just about every other night. He is quite vocal...in his sleep, and even while awake. He is far more vocal than my previous fella. He sometimes wakes me up with his noises. Yes, he wil growl, whine, and howl/yodel in his sleep. Welcome to my world!

    Mav does best with the Beef bones too, Never chokes on them thank goodness!!! Hes kinda a girl tho, just does the little bitty very careful nibbles on them LOL. But hey, Thats a good thing, less likely to have a choke. SOOO Glad to hear B is OKAY!! :)

    @-Clar|Emm|Kai-: What we find hysterical and gross at the same time is how he scratches himself with his hind paw, sniffs it and then begins to clean and chew his nails…cute...weird...funny...B's are the best! My B does this quite frequently. He also does it with his dew claws when he's scratching his face. I find it funny. :D

    Bdawg, I love those short talkie sounds. Katie does those all the time. I especially love the 2:00 minute mark when Lexi throws herself to the floor, just like a toddler in a temper tantrum!! Ty has always been a yodeler/howler and rapid tail wagger, but he never acquired the shorter "speech patterns". Katie is the mouthier short speech maker, but only yodels as a greeting to immediate family or to remind of a forgotten treat. She also only wags when extremely excited (ie.."look what I just stole" moments)
