    Hi Everyone!

    This is Channing, my 10 month old Basenji. He is my best friend who goes every where with me. He enjoys hanging out at horse shows as well as going boating. He is the first basenji I have ever owned but I fell in love with the breed 2 years ago when researching various dog breeds and had to have one for myself. We would love to get to know other basenji owners and trainers in the area. I am interested in getting him into lure coursing as a sport, though I do not know much about the sport other than what I have read on the internet.

    It must of been nice growing up with them, I,m wondering if you as a child ever used them as a scapegoat to anything you may have done, as they are always getting into something they would be handy to have around as a kid. Were you thinking of getting one yourself or does your experience with them put you off owning your own? I would say you would have enough experience as a child to be able to get the best out of one. You and your husband were both right it was a Shiba and it was a Basenji, wonder what it actually looked like as a mix, interesting. Looking forward to your stories as my boy is only 1 we have yet to write an interesting one(am I asking for trouble or what!). Jolanda and Kaiser

    Mind you, Bella was a surprise birthday gift from my husband. He wanted a boxer, but I wanted a smaller dog (he said he wasn't getting either). He went to a pet store:( and saw my girl… and fell in love with her!:eek: He arranged everything and proceeded to tell me we were going out and it was a surprise for my birthday. He blindfolded me:cool: and took me there and I didn't know where I was going until I walked into the store. I was asked to guess what my present was... then told to close my eyes while they got her. I didn't know until they put her in my arms who my sweetie girl was going to be.:D How could I resist this beautiful little Basenji baby bundle of joy! I never even imagined it would be a Barkless African dog. I don't approve of puppy mills or encourage them, "backyard breeders" either.     Hello there and welcome!! My name is Angee and we have a 12 week old Basenji boy that goes by the name Bandit….. and what a Bandit he is - stealing anything that is not nailed down!! We also have a 2 years old Lowchen we call Alfie.... very much a spoocher, just like the movie!!!
