Lure Coursing in KY? Can crosses do it?
I would love to try p-dog on lure coursing, as she is very fast and agile and likes to chase things Are there any clubs/ meetings I could go to in Kentucky? Can cross breeds do it, or only purebreds?
Thanks! -
RE: 3 young adult Basenjis in Georgia
They are all beautiful. Do you think any of them would fit in with my life? 1 VERY energetic/playful basenji x, 2 chihuahas (roommates- they are not fragile creatures that break if you look at them, but don't like playing basenji games all the time- hence the need for a full sized friend 4 outside barn cats. Horses. I live on 20 acres. Have a 5 ft fenced kennel, but Paisley can jump out of it (GRRR danged athletic creature ). House is fenced on 3 sides with 3 1/2 ft fencing, and at bottom of yard is a creek. I never let the dogs out without watching them or going outside as well. Paisley is not a runner and has an excellent recall though, and I know that purebreds may not be like her, and am prepared to use an extended leash for bathroom breaks. Looking for a playful dog that will get along with everyone in the house, and will cuddle on couch or bed at end of day. Hoping for not super destructo . I also compete in equestrian events and like to take dogs to horseshows ( on a leash) where they would see a variety of people and animals. Let me know if you think any of them would fit in.

RE: Hello from KY
Thanks everyone! Paisley is my princess I have hundreds of other pics of her, so watch out, cause you will get flooded. I just have to figure out how to post them directly in the thread instead of linking pics.

She is a 2yr old mostly basenji x as far as I can figure, although I would love to get input on that from the experts. Black tri female, weighs 40 #, erect ears and curly tail. OWNS ME and makes sure everyone knows it Displayed major separation anxiety when I kept her in a crate, better now that I just give her rein of the house, and deal with the occasional aftermath  Can bark, but also makes some interesting noises, and loves to sigh and let the world know just how much she has to put up with⦠VERY high energy and rediculously athletic. She does differ from most basenjis from what I've read, in that she is very good and trustworthy off leash and has an excellent recall. I take her riding with me on 4 mile trail rides and she stays within 30 feet of my horse at all times. She is my best girl, and now that I have her, I don't know how I ever lived without a basenji in my life
I am hoping to get her a basenji friend to hang out with if I can find the right one to fit in to our family. Hoping contacts on here will help with that quest!
