  • What lovely dogs! Are they from your breed line?
What a face, and the wrinkle!
    Lovely, b's indeed.

  • Beautiful!

I love the way these dogs sleep all piled up.
My other dog is still getting used to always having Jazzy trying to sleep on top of her!

    Thanks Sharron :)
The puppy, Luna, is Quercus Select Incandescent; Dr. Tracy Leonard and I co-bred the litter, but she did all the work! We just own the dad, Querk, Ch. Select Quercus Rubra, who was bred by Tracy. Then Bella is Ch. Taji's Closing Bell at Quercus JC, bred by Katie Campbell...so I am sure you have seen lots of her relatives out your way.
Thanks again for the compliment :)

  • Lovely dogs all. Yes, I am lucky to know Katie C and enjoy the lovely b's she has produced.
As I say, I am very lucky with the breed club I am a member.
    Quality folks.

  • I love this picture! Brings a whole new meaning to the term "dog pile":). I checked out your webpage, and all your dogs are lovely! The picture on your site of your husband sleeping on the couch surrounded by basenjis is just a classic! The opening picture on your homepage is great, too. I love the way the light falls on the dog with it's eyes closed.

    Thanks so much!_

  • Are there (4)? This is a great picture!

  • That's a great picture, although I'm a little confused about which body belongs to which head. I know my pups would never sleep all piled up like that. The closest they ever get is curled up next to each other, but once Sam touches Kiya she gets grumpy.

    Thanks :) there are three.

  • Beautiful picture and I love their rich colors!

  • Your Luna looks just like my sweetie, they could be sisters. haha!!! I love your picture, do you have more? My sweetie is Sahara, and she is 6 months on the 31st, she is so loving. I love this breed, she is my first, and I also have 2 cats, one is 17, and the other is 8 years old. Sahara loves to chase my cats, any suggestions on how to get her to leave them alone, she loves to bite at my 17 year old who is too slow and old to run as fast as Sahara.

Do I have more pictures or more basenjis? I have more of both ;) Sahara sounds like a doll. Congrats on having a 17 year old cat! Impressive! There is a thread about cats and basenjis under "Training"…check that out :)

I am not in your area, but ... you should know that dog training is about teaching you how to interact with your dog, as opposed to teaching your dog how to do things. Most area Kennel Clubs offer training where you are your dogs partner in the class. The things you will learn will last your lifetime. I applaud the non-punitive approach. A lot of people fly off the handle when their dog chews on the wrong thing, or doesn't quite have potty training down. One of the best things you can do is give them love when they do it right and don't react when they don't. Recognize that he's just a pup. You can trade an acceptable chew toy for your shoes, and you can avoid the problem by closing the closet door so your pup can't get to your shoes. Accidents will happen and learning to potty doesn't happen overnight. Just provide a lot of verbal love when the pup gets it right and don't react when he doesn't. Love and praise are the best tools in your training bag. Congrats on your pup. Can't wait to hear about all of your adventures!

Nice looking dog! I'm tempted to get another too once Safi is a bit older.
