Binti's first marrow bone! Yum!!

Show Off Your Dog
  • I am getting such a kick out of living with a basenji.

Binti both hides things AND collects things. I find her rawhide chewy sticks EVERYWHERE: under the clothes in the dirty laundry hamper, half way down the basket of clean towels, in my bed, stuck in the folds of the couch, under rugs, behind the TV. And she collects a pile of things (except her rawhide chewy's) in one spot under the pool table: milk jugs from the recycling, a variety of shoes, stuffed animals, pens stolen from the ceramic pot on my night stand, eye glasses, chess pieces, even my son's 6 ft. walking stick. She is busy all the day going about her own important life. I just love her. :)

  • My b's love the marrow bones. Its a good treat.

  • Mine loves'em to..I usually keep a few bags in the freezer (as I buy them RAW) and they love them fresh out of there..so they are still frozen..like a pop..
Pippin likes to collect shoes, toiletpaper, yarn (oh my G..does he love yarn, preferably all pulled out and made into a mess ;)), my kiddos toothbrushes..etc..i.e things that does not belong to him..

@Basenjimamma: she is sooo cute..I am glad all things have worked out for her and that she has the best mum in the whole wide world :) She is one lucky pup, noone expected her to still be with us so she's very special! And Maya is just the best mum, endlessly tolerant of Evie's pulling, chewing, biting and playing  @Shaye's: Evie is a doll! I'll bet the big outside world is just wonderful for her - love the field of passing dandeliions. It was a bit overwhelming this time I think, but i bet she'll be loving it in no time :D @vickilb: The clover are almost as tall as her!!!! So glad her Mum is ever-vigilant and won't allow any harm to come to her! She really seems to be raising her right!!!:):) Well… Maya did let herself down when she spotted her great dane and pointer friends at the other end of the field :o Galloped off to play with them and left Evie with me! But, the rest of the time she was vigilant as ever :D @Patty: Lovely pictures. Evie is a little love. She is obviously going to be one bold, brave Chi. Maya is raising her right!! She is certainly looking to be very outgoing at the moment :D I hate those nervous, yappy chi's!

What a spectacular area to let dogs run free! I am envious! It looks like they all had a great time running and being with each other.

@mauigirl: Welcome! I'm so glad you joined! There have been some litters posted about frequently here, so many of us have been following along. We knew when the pups were due and got to see them grow up in pictures…..Very cool that that process can and does continue after the pups join their families. I agree wholeheartedly… Mega cool!! I'm so happy to see you here, too!

@Quercus: I love Stitch, the character, precisely because I swear whoever created him MUST have patterned him after a Basenji! There is a dog out here named Stitch, his registered name is DC Select Rugosa Alien Invader SC LCX. We are planning on using him for a breeding this fall :) And with any luck, we will be doing a frozen breeding to Stitch's sire, Jaadii…
