I own five basenjis. Two yodel until you have a headache and my female barks. She always did. Short clipped barks. I also researched the breed before getting my first and she is an excellent dog. My third basenji was a handful. Three years later and he has stopped his destructiveness etc. It was a hard three years. Lol. You never know with a basenji. Greatest breed. Loyal, active, funny but some require ALOT of patience.
Hello From Oregon

Hello Everyone,
After more than 15 years without I now have a new Basenji. We live here in the Portland Oregon area. I had a couple of basenjis as a small child before my parents started breeding goldens. I got a Jack Russel for myself about 2 years ago and realized that a one dog house was not enough. So I thought long and hard about what kind of a dog to get that would be able to keep up with my Jacks energy and personality. Finaly I realized that I had totaly neglected to think about basenjis. So after almost 8 months of breeder research I found one I was comfortable with (Both the breeder and the bloodline), and now Charlie (My Jack) and I have welcomed into our house a little 10 week old female named Zaire. -
Welcome! We'll be looking forward to photos of BOTH dogs!
Who's your breeder?
-
Kate Campbell (Taji) From Seattle

Welcome, who is the sire and dam of your pup?

And by the way… what a choice of two breeds...gggg... a Jack and a Basenji.... for sure they will be able to keep up with each other....
