We had a cat for years and quickly learned if he was out at night he came home bleeding 50% of the time so he came home at dinner to be fed and we locked the cat door with him inside the house. I sounds like basenji like of breeds are best supervised always - which is not a problem - but I know I can't out run one heading over a fence so I need a second line of containment. The contractor just came by with the property line info. I need to let him know what type of fence ….. I’m off to walk the neighborhood (with my imaginary basenji) to see what styles there are which are high enough.

Yikes - the bylaw only allow 6' on the sides - i can away with 7' in the front because of a 2' rockwall and with a 5' fence - there going to think i'm getting a kangaroo…..

I have read that some fences are better then others for Basenji's …..is this true? We are just starting with new fencing and since it's whole reason for being installed is for Baseinji containment ....it would be nice to get it right!

I filled out the adoption form last year. I don't know how long the forms are kept, so it is possible it is no longer there?.should I fill in another?

I understand Pat has e-mailed you regarding us adopting Lily. I would hate to miss a good fit because of paper work. Please let me know if I should re-do the adoption form on Brat.

We did fill out a BRAT adoption form last year and Sharron e-mailed and did suggest we meet a Basenji or two, which we have done. Funny how things work - I have just received an e-mail about Lily ( one of the names we have thought would be perfect) and I will fillout the contact form and see if she might be the one! She is a long way from the west but it sounds like she has been on a plane once - we could also fly and drive her home. Does flying cause much stress for basenji's?

I have just join your forum and it looks like a wonderful place for information on Basenji's by people who truly love bred. I live in Victoria BC and have been researching breeds for a while and decided on a basenji. I am hoping to rescue but we will see…...since I have been thinking about/researching for 4 years, I?m in no rush. I have meet three Basenji's so far but just for a very short time.
