BRAT Needs Fosters

    I am the BRAT District Coordinator for VA, Washington DC, and PA. BRAT always has a need for foster homes to temporarily care for Basenjis in rescue while we work to place them in new adoptive homes.     Please consider fostering-it is joy to help a Basenji! I have fostered two in the last few years-one a young Basenji who had pups at a shelter and an elderly female whose owners were going into an assisted care facility and were going to have her euthanized within a few days if not rescued. The elderly girl lived a few more years-just shy of her 17th birthday. She had never lived with other dogs before and she was fine with my pack-but my dogs knew that she was older and wanted to be left alone. She was spunky though and would nip at them if they got out of line! If I was not having health problems, I would foster one! Jennifer

    I think in all fairness, you should include the link to your post that was made after his second behavioral evaluation, http://www.basenjiforums.com/showthread.php?8816-Need-Home-for-Basenji The behaviorists did not "fail" to rehabilitate him, they gave a recommendation you were unwilling to live with.

    What caused the fight if I can ask? food, attention, or they just looked at each other and said, "why are you here"? There is often a "squabble" or 2 with new dogs..just learning their place. Its helpful to know if you can see what triggers it..
