  • Hello Everyone!!!

I am so excited about finding this forum!!! I am proudly ruled by a tri basenji boy named Corky. My husband and I foster puppies for a local rescue and so does Corky. He is the best foster brother these little babies could ask for. My boy plays so nice and gentle with them and teaches them good manners among dogs.

Corky also has a brother and sister. His brother's name is buddy and he is a beagle/dalmation/??? mix. They are good friends until Corky decides that he owns all the chew toys in the house. Although Corky does realize that the ball is Bud's and definitely not his. Corky's sister is a pom/chi named Sophie. Sophie loves her brother Corky especially when it's time to cuddle up and nap. As far as size goes, the boys are exactly the same size and Sophie is about 7 pounds smaller.

I am totally looking forward to getting to know all of you and your basenjis as well as learning more about the breed.

  • Welcome…he's adorable. This is a fun, informative place for animal lovers...especially Basenjis!

  • I found this forum on the weekend, and find it great. I have one Basenji that belongs to my daughter and her fiance. He is "staying" with grandma until they get a place that allows dogs. In some ways I hope it is soon. He is keeping me on my toes…...

  • Welcome to you both. Great place to get answers to your Basenji questions, enjoy some great pictures and have a little fun with like minded Basenji lovers…...enjoy!

  • Hello and welcome to the forum. Post pics when you can. We love looking at the photos.

  • Hello,
I just became a new member today as well. These folks are really nice people! I've had Basenjis for 30 years and wished I had a forum like this. Before the internet I used to get Basenji magazine, find a breeders number or go visit one when I needed help. Anyway welcome!

What a sweet face! Thank you for taking her in, she needs a forever home. As Pat indicated, unless you have info on the parents being clear, or at least one clear, she should be tested for Fanconi asap.

Luzambo, I too had one pass last March. After that I was left with one and said once he passed, I was going to be done with dogs – too much of work and emotional strain. Yep, I was going to be free to... well, to do something. Then I found a little girl related to Brie just 2 weeks later and 6 months later I have yet another. Yes, they're a lot of work at times, but so is most everything in life. I love having them around and the house would be often boring otherwise. I'm sure Pharaoh and my Brie are hanging out in their private club looking down on us saying "what are you guys doing down there?" And with a signature like yours, I don't think you'll be waiting long. Welcome to the forum!
