Looking for a Besenji pup in Europe DE

Basenjis For Sale or Wanted
  • Im based in frankfurt 🇩🇪 looking for a pup can travel to view litter.

  • Get in touch with a local club, or the national association of Basenjis. Then look wider in the national canine association, for leads of breeders. Basenjis are usually born around Christmas in the northern hemisphere, and six months earlier in the southern hemisphere. You need to put your name with a reputable breeder, and hope that a male is born in the next litter. It is not something you can predict. However, you can sometimes get a retired showdog, or a dog that has been returned. Keep trying

  • The Basenji Klub Deutschland has a website - otherwise, email me privately for some addresses. You could be too late for this season's crop though you can get on a list for next winter.

@gianna said in Looking for a female pup: as far as i can afford to go... I think @zande was asking what distance you would be willing to travel.... 10km? 800km?

Please go to basenji club of america for a list of breeders. If a breeder is not listed there, you can be pretty sure they are not a responsible breeder. http://www.basenji.org/index.php/about-basenjis/breeder-directory

The Basenji Meetup in New York City has a list of breeders who provided dogs to members. You can find it at: http://www.meetup.com/basenji-nyc/pages/Breeders/.

If funds are an issues, you can do what I used to do before BRAT came along. Find out the vet of the family your placing him with, have the family pay you for your expenses and then take the dog to the new familys vet for the surgery to be fixed. Drop the dog off the day of the surgery and then new owners pu the dog. They get to pay the bill. That makes sure the dog is fixed, sets up a new vet record for the new dog in the family, and you don't have to pay anything out of pocket. Mostly, you know the surgery WILL BE DONE. Thanks for making sure he is fixed before rehoming. That is so important.
