    @YodelDogs: Podengos are extremely rare in the USA so finding a mix of one would not be very likely. ok, so my shade of grey is just probably unlikely, but not totally out of the question. I just added the link so that you can see the similarity…..So it is an American mix, maybe or maybe not Basenji- who cares, it is a dog in need, got adopted by a great heart and is a cutie!     LOVED the costume, so it was an easy vote. And, if you're looking to donate food to needy dogs, might I suggest a basenji-related rescue group especially if they give out coupons/certificates instead of the actual bag. I know Colorado Basenji rescue has a glut of dog in right now. I'd imagine Medfly or BRAT are also needy. (I just sent CBR a coupon for a bag of food that Zest won, much to Z's dismay as she was looking forward to eating the entire bag in one sitting.)

    @Shaye's: Cairo is a beautiful boy! He looks nearly exactly like my girl, Shaye - so of course he is the best looking guy around. @Patty: Lovely pictures - he's a very smart boy. Thank you for all the kind comments. I agree (and he does also) that he is great looking boy. Very smart as well. Me and my parents joke around all the time, saying that he is a celebrity around our town. Everywhere I take him, people go out of their way to see, pet, and inquire about him. Cairo's doctor said she only knows of one other Basenji in our area, I have yet to see.
