    Happy Holidays to all! My family adopted Reesie 4yrs ago from a local shelter. She was listed as a "Terrier mix"- mostly to tone down her obvious PIT-BULL heritage. I'm almost certain that she's PITBULL and most likely Cardigan Welsh Corgi… I joined the forum because I'm on the fence about BASENJI!! I managed a pet store during high school and feel head over heel for the breed. I've actually had arguements with some individuals that a "yodeling" dog is a myth... Reesie WILL bark, but usually prefers to almost "pucker" her lips up and make a "GROWRL" noise.
    Even with her Corgi breastbone and little, stumpy legs, she can GLIDE right up onto of whatever table/counter she pleases! ( without crouching down and giving it a couple goes! She looks likes she's part REINDEER!!! LOL! ) What do you think?????

    Your pup is sure cute! I don't see Basenji in her, except maybe for the occasional picture that has wrinkles in the brow - you can always have her DNA tested to satisfy your curiosity - pet stores generally sell the kits for sending off samples and the reports are very interesting.

    No idea, sometimes with mixes it's so hard to tell what the parentage is. I do think that your dog's head is a bit more refined than many of the pit mixes i've seen.

    @tanza well on the DOB vaccine certificate, she actually write August 2016. Thank you @annlorimer .. Yes he is super cute.. The vet actually said he probably will be a medium size. @DebraDownSouth .. He grows taller right now .. And jumps higher.. I actually have another picture of him, his other brother/sister and possibly his parent. his probably mother is actually large size. The owner didn't want the puppy and post it online offering adoption. And sent him away to my home. Well he actually said that the mother/father is a mix rottweiler and husky. Others have commented that she looks like she has some Corgi or Shiba Inu in her, and while I do see it, I see more of the Basenji temperament in her. I've asked her vet about the DNA testing, but I've been told that it is very unreliable, so I thought I'd ask other Basenji owners what they thought! The Wisdom Panel DNA tests have been getting better every year, so it's not as much of a gamble as it used to be. That said, the test does best with a purebred, then with a two-breed dog (like a "labradoodle" or whatever), and worst with a total mutt. If your girl is indeed a mix of two purebred dogs, it might be worth a shot. Check your pet store or Amazon for the test; the one that vets give is the most expensive anyway and is only worth it if you want to know about hereditary health issues, too.

    Hope you guys don't get tired of looking at pics of possible Basenji mixes! This is Rio and I have tried to narrow his breed type to Basenji - Toy Fox/Rat Terrier - Chi - and Shephard. I keep seeing more Basenji than anything else but tell me otherwise! Thanks for your input!!! Snappy
