Hello everyone…I am KJ. About to retire from the Fire Department and sooooo looking forward to getting mfirst Basenji! I'm sort of new to this whole forum thing so hang in there with me! Willing to accept ALL advice and info about these lovely dogs!

Love Frenchies and Pugs. You should look up Joseph Mallozzi's blog.... he is a sci fi tv writer/producer/director... but his blog is nearly half about his pugs and frenchie.

He's sort of in-between sized. He's gained a few pounds since I got him, he needed some weight on. He's now 12 pounds, 11 1/2 inches tall at the shoulder.

Welcome!! I would also add that Basenjis are high energy dogs…umm so good luck having them "calm" down 🙂 But if you exercise them often they will come home to sleep! Which is great down time for you.

They will also do these wild sprints around your house/yard/wherver there's space!! We call it the "Basenji 500" because it's JUST as fast as the Daytona 500 or the Indy 500 🙂
