    @M-D-Allen M-D-Allen, I don't know why you think my question is "unwarrantedly, inherently suspicious". When you said "I have raised Basenjis 20 years", that's a long time so I figured that you'd known several breeders & other people. You never said that you'd only used one breeder or that the only breeder had died. I wish you much luck in finding another Senji..

    @Dsims1976 really should contact BRAT - i didnt want togo through the puppy stage as well- and hes been such a pussy cat!!! i got my 2 year old basenji to accompany my other boy and hes been awesome!!!!

    Hi, welcome to the forum, nice to see someone elase from the UK here. Please tell us a bit more about your Basenji, have you any pics ? :D We lost our Basenji boy last year and have now got a 5 month old Puppy girl, Malaika. When we were looking for a Pup we were advised to go to shows to identify breeders.

    @jds_truck: I just want a pet. i am willing to rescue if there is one in the area available as long as it's not to , to sick actually would almost preffer to show a dog that has had a bad living so far that would truley appreciate a good home. Many rescues are actually perfectly healthy dogs that find themselves in need of new homes for various reasons other than health concerns. Check out the BRAT website. Many wonderful basenjis looking for homes :) If you are going through a breeder go with someone you can trust and build a relationship with for the dogs life. Some breeders need homes for older dogs as well and many good breeders are active in rescue too. I hope you find a nice dog…good luck in your search.
