Ok. that sounds reasonable for a DNA test. I'm curious what percentage of Basenji she is, but I doubt I'll actually do the test because it doesn't really matter. I love her so MUCH and from everything I've read and from all of you (great posts by the way) she's at least part Basenji.
My silly Stella can always be found sniffing around in the kitchen when we're cooking, which brings me to ask- is that a Basenji trait, always begging when there is food? or is that just Stella.
She loves taking my napkins or kleenex and tearing them to shreds.
She has such personality! she does love to jump up in the air when she knows she's going out and she loves to run as fast as she can.
Do they like to swim? I haven't had her in the water yet.

Are the DNA tests expensive? I would love to have her tested.
From all the pictures of Basenji's that I've seen, and so many of the behavior characteristics I've read about match hers, I think she has some degree of Basenji.
Her facial structure isn't as 'pointy' as the ones I've seen - Stella has a more pronounced jawline, and she appears a bit taller than most I've seen too.
I'm so happy to have her as part of our family!

I've heard crates are work great. She only behaved like that the day we moved; nothing like that since. Thank God!

@katzmeow I just wanted to say that since becoming a member, only yesterday, I'm so excited that I found this forum!
What a wonderful place this is! There is so much here to read and learn, so much information, and I have tons of questions!
But I'll read the guides before I bombard you all with a bunch of questions.
You ALL are great and every single dog pictured here is SO beautiful.
So far, everything I've read and know about the Basenji, there is a lot to be said for them. They're a special breed of dog! I love it.

oh my gosh! Speaking of 'house destruction', when my daughter and I moved, we had Stella probably only about 6-8 months.
We had to leave her in the new apartment while we went to get something to eat. Well! when we came back the bottom of the screens on the windows were all torn, and she scratched the left AND the right bottom sides of the door! any window she could get to, the screens were torn. :confounded_face:
In hindsight, we maybe shouldn't have left her alone, but we really had no choice.
