@eeeefarm My aunt is actually a photographer and has gotten quite popular taking horse pictures and she uses the umbrella trick! A liver treat or a high pitch noise is usually enough to get Remus to sit still and look at me lol

@antigone wow! That's amazing! I can usually get Remus to sit still for maybe 30 seconds and then have to let him run a lap before he regains the focus to sit pretty for me again. He does have the cute little head tilt and the momentary lazer focus though haha

@eeeefarm its actually just a Canon T3 I got maybe 5 years ago, but the lens is a 50mm 1.8f and it makes a huge difference for relatively little cost. Its fixed focal length so it can be a bit tricky to get them in frame while holding treats or toys to get their attention, but worth it for sure!

@donc Thank you! My fiance actually bought me the 50mm lens I used for the photos a few years back and it works so perfectly with the snow. The only challenge is getting him and his GSD sister to sit still haha

@antigone Remus HATES the rain. There is nothing I can do to get him to go outside if its even drizzling. He was really unsure about the snow last year, but with some treats and tossing snowballs he warmed up to it. Now he just goes out and does zoomies in the back yard in the snow and refuses to come in haha

Snow Day with my handsome boy- Remus (aka Spring Willow's Auld Lang Syne)
Hello all!
Just wanted to share some of the photos I got of my gorgeous little model the other day after the snowstorm here in RVA! He's entirely motivated by treats but he seems to know exactly what I want from him as soon as I whip the camera out. Let's see some more snow pictures!

RE: First post! My 7 mo old Remus
@CrazySenji Remus has definitely been mischievous, but over all hes been amazing! He and our cat are best friends, he loves literally everyone he meets, and he's so gentle and sweet with our nephews! The one year old was crawling around our house a few weeks ago and Remus just crawled along on his belly and giving kisses! And I had been warned they were infamously aloof haha

@Kembe Thank you so much! We get so many compliments on him whenever we all go out! He's a real hit at the dog park haha

RE: First post! My 7 mo old Remus
@CrazySenji She was going to keep Remus, but Kathy from Khani's sent her our application and the next week we met her in Pennsylvania to pick him up at 11 weeks old. We're so glad she decided to let us take him! We absolutely love spoiling him

RE: First post! My 7 mo old Remus
@CrazySenji I think we do! I think I've seen some of your posts in the Spring Willow Basenjis page Ali and Cole's puppies? I think the whole litter was new years themed. I can definitely see the resemblance!

Central, Va meetup?
Hi everyone!
Any basenji owners in central va interested in doing a meet up? Remus hasn't met another basenji since we brought him home at 10 weeks and we'd love to meet some other owners in the Richmond area!

RE: Places to meet a Basenji? (Columbus, OH)
Check out Spring Willow Kennels! That's where we got our Basenji, Remus, from Laurie and she was great. She's not far from Cleveland!
