7 Yr Old PB Female Brindle B For Adoption-OH-Bambi

Basenji Rescue
  • I wonder why she is up for adoption ???

She is/was living with other B's, both younger and older, of both sexes, AND she has been DNA tested for Fanconi, AND been diagnosed hypothyroid as well, it just sounds a bit odd to me

  • Bambi is one of my own rescues and I do health testing on my own rescues.

She would be happier in a quieter home since I also foster for BRAT. I learned this after recently fostering a young female for BRAT who was a spitfire and would want to play, play, play!

If you have additional questions about Bambi, please ask.

    Jennifer Hill

  • Jennifer Hill is a wonderful asset to BRAT. If she says the b would be better in a different home, I would trust her totally. FYI.

  • Oh I see now :)…

It was purely a question of interest, certainly didnt mean to insinuate anything 'shonky' was going on, or anything like that . I was just curious about her health testing, cos reading all the rescues that need help, this was the first time I had heard of a B with health results, tis all ...

dcmclcm4, you are to be congratulated on doing health testing on any B's you rescue... I hope Bambi finds a forever home ASAP...

  • hmmmmm . . . "shonky" shall be my new word for the day! And, thanks to that word, I found a whole new dictionary of interesting words:

and it's nice to know i live in woop woop

  • I am sure Jennifer didn't think anything was Shonky…I have had dealings with her over the years with BRAT and wanted to post that, so just wanted to share that with you.

:D… If you want to see 'Woop-Woop", then you need to look no further than where I live, I can assure you :p :p

I didnt even think that one of our Aussie slang words wouldnt be understood !!! Sorry ;) ;) ;)

    Thanks Sharon :)…

  • I did not think it was shonky! I can see how my post could confuse people regarding the health testing and her being a rescue.

If anyone is interested in Bambi or need more information about her, please contact me at jensrescue@yahoo.com

    Thanks!

  • I have finally posted pictures of Bambi on her Petfinder website. I kept having trouble this past week.

It could be listed too. I just hope they aren't just re-homing the B or that is their 'story'.

@dcmclcm4: Since she was found as a stray, no knowledge if she has been around children. When she gets overly excited to see someone she can be mouthy since she is still young so probably no real young children. I get her to sit, direct her focus away from my hand and give her a nylabone chew toy. This usually works. She is learning how to sit with the hand signal for sit and almost has it learned. She is a fairly easy pill giver as she has not spit out a pill yet! She did a playbow today to the Bs to try to get them to play. My two middle Bs, Arnie-10 years old and Bambi-8 years old play with her. She can bark but is not overly barky. I feel she does need more socialization and I am planning on doing that this coming week when the weather is better. If you need additional information or have specific questons about her, let me know. Jennifer I will Jennifer, my friend is seriously considering it :)

Hopefully Dixie will find a great home soon. As much as this must have hurt her first human, better to handle it sensibly rather than an emergency trip to the pound and all the pain that would have caused both of them. My sympathy to the first owner, if you see her again. And an "atta girl" for facing a bad situation head-on and dealing with it.
