Hi all

  • New to this forum we wanted to introduce ourselfs.
We are Erik & Ingrid and have been owned by Basenjis since 2000.
Abuluka Basenjis is the first Basenji kennel in Belgium.
For the moment we have 5 adult Basenjis and 2 litters with 7 male puppies in total.;)
The pups are quite a handfull of work for the moment but they are so lovely.:)
In two weeks they will move to their new homes. We'll miss them.:(

    regards
    Erik & Ingrid

  • Welcome to the forum. I am living in Germany at the moment as my husband is in the british forces. I see you have Zande basenji…. my male is being used on a Zande bitch here in Germany later on this year. I know Sally well. Look forward to getting to know you and your dogs.

  • Hi Erik,
    It's Noel's bitch Zande Cheka!

  • Hi Jenny

    I thought so.
We know Noel & Rainer very well.
Two of our dogs come from her (our Masai & Kara) and we used her Elton (Mutabaruga's Exodus of Jahpeople) twice as stud.
Acually, the Zande dog (Zande Dalasini) is not really our dog but he's a friends dog we integrated in our kennel for breeding and so on. We have the pleasure of having Congo (that's Dalasini's calling name) staying over with us for at least 2 months a year in different perionds of 2 weeks. He such a lovely dog.
Noel is organising again a Basenji Club match-show this year on september first in Trechtingshausen for the BKD. Will you be there? We are coming with all our dogs for the 4th time. Several of our offspring will be there too.
In 2005 our young male Abuluka's Disanka (Chagga) became best male & BOS in show out of 54 Basenjis. All our offspring was there and got very nice results.
It's allways fun and very nice weather and the setting is fantastic.
    Hope to meet you there.

    Regards
    Erik

  • Hi Erik

I have just had a longer look at your website and see that he just comes to visit!
Yes I am going to be there as my male has to get his breeding permission done so he can be used on Jammin. I am hoping to get a bitch from that litter as I like the lines and know them!!

Look forward to seeing you there, provided I don't get lost as my husband who normally drives is going to be in Canada.

    Jenny

I think they just look solid so my mind saw "bigger." I have one of the Wimaumau rescue giants (44 pounds), but even my 2 previous gals were far from petite... about 26 to 28 pounds. My dream of a petite 18 pound basenji just never happened, lol.

What a sweet face! Thank you for taking her in, she needs a forever home. As Pat indicated, unless you have info on the parents being clear, or at least one clear, she should be tested for Fanconi asap.

A tired Basenji?!!! Joking apart, I agree with the previous posts. It is really important that she doesn't get something for nothing as Wizard advises make her work for it. Welcome to the Forum to you,Teagan and the others.

When I 1st got Kirabo, I had named her Hollie. A few mths later my wife told me every time I had a seizure, she would go crazy & wouldn't leave my side. Then 1 night I had a dream & God told me to name her Kirabo which means " a gift from God". She truly is God sent. Kirabo stays by my side & is constantly keeping her eyes on me, always observant of every-thing I do.
