San Diego, CA - R&W @ off-leash park

    We were driving by a nicely fenced off-leash park on Nimitz Dr. this past Monday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to see a lovely red & white Basenji playing with the others! Our girl came home from her former walker's place this afternoon and was quite happy to see everything (and everyone) was in its proper place.

    @ukjason That's a good suggestion. I usually ask him to go fetch (or at least touch) the leash - still waiting for the leash to be brought back!!!! Then sit while I put it on. We can extend the session. Thank you.

    Alex, what is the material? Those look cotton, not nylon but helps to know which. This person on Etsy has a lot of variety https://www.etsy.com/listing/108893703/paracord-leash this round one looks similar: https://www.etsy.com/listing/167269676/4-strand-round-braid-paracord-leash?ref=related-3 These fleece ones look interesting.. you can totally design your own from colors to snaps! https://www.etsy.com/listing/172328771/custom-order-fleece-braided-design-a?ref=shop_home_feat_1 I had braided cord for my horses, not dogs so no personal experience. Hopefully someone else here does.

    I know what you mean Patty; but I always made sure to do this and it didn't make any difference. It's not every dog I've had that could do this; most can't but once they figure it out the first time they always seem to do it again.

    @snorky998: Saw a young male in Milwaukee on Saturday walking near the lake front toward the Circus Wagon Parade grounds. We were stuck in traffic and could only yell out the window to say what a cutie he was. Was accompanied by a male 2 legger and another small dog. Anyone from the forum? I dunno, but "male 2 legger" made me laugh! :D

    You should call animal control and report a dangerous dog running loose. No one should have to deal with that type of danger when walking their dog.

    Good news!! This B that was adopted from SoCal Basenji Rescue was found and is now safe and sound at home with his dad. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
