  • Hi,
I'm glad to have found your forum. We've been owners for a while, but recently lost our beautiful female. We've been trying to push through so our kids don't get too upset, but our male is freaking out. They were completely bonded and we're considering adopting an older lady. We're basically looking for information to help ease the introduction process. It's been great reading about all the love of the basenji breed. I also love all the pictures!

Before you get a puppy… go to the Basenji Club of Canada and Basenji Club of America websites and read up on Fanconi and other heritable diseases. ANY breeder not testing for these disease is NOT someone you should spend your time or money on one of their puppies. Too bad you didn't look 4-5 months ago... there was a lovely litter of Khani's pups up in Drumheller! Best of luck to you!

@Rita: Pat yes we did get Jaycee's AKC application at the time we got her. Have not got cert back yet as we were really slow in her name made us slow in mailing. Rita Jean Great, it would be good if you gave Sally W the information for her website to update the pedigrees. Many of us rely heavily on the pedigree site when thinking about breeding and researching dogs…. You can do contact Sally at Zande Basenjis (just do a seach for her website and drop her an email with the info)....
