    Parents health tests: dam: DNA Fanconi clear, OFA hips good, eyes recently CERF'd normal, patellas OFA normal. sire: DNA Fanconi clear, OFA hips good, eyes CERF'd normal when last tested.
    Registration if any (AKC, Basenji Clubs, etc): AKC limited, spay/neuter required
    Price: $800
    Age when puppies will be ready to be taken home: 9-10 weeks old, end of January/beginning February
    Do you ship your Basenjis: I can but I prefer they be picked up in my home.

    I would also look on Petharbor and Adopt-A-Pet. It can be difficult to find one under 1 year of age. You might have to go farther in your search or perhaps raise the age to 2 years. Jennifer

    Yes i have been very interested for a long time. Iv been in contact with a Breeder from England for a while now and they are expecting a summer litter. While iv been speaking to the breeder i feel comfortable that she will be more than helpful and is willing to all of the above. Like you said the price was the last thing on your mind, this goes for me too. I was just wondering along the lines so i could save to buy my puppy. Thanks for the help :)

    You may want to follow the link to her website and contact her from there. She checks in on the forums frequently but a direct email or phone call will get you a faster response.

    It depends on the people. I do feel Jozie would be more comfortable with a calm home rather than a boisterous one. I would be very happy to talk to your parents about her and see if it may be a possible match.

    Yes, if you want a rescue basenji you really need to be on top of it every day. They go fast, and unfortunately not always to educated homes. The effort is well worth it, though, both in getting a wonderful pup (who may need to work through some issues so you can both be reminded he's wonderful) and in the satisfaction of giving a basenji who's been misunderstood a wonerful forever home. Hang in there. Your pup will find you.
