Can anyone tell me how to prepare beef heart for bait??
This is how I prepare "BHB" : I make a vegetable stock (whithout salt) and simmer the cleaned BH / LH (Lamb heart) chunks for about 10 minutes. After cooling down I cut the heart into 1cmx1cmx1cm cubes and freeze them in handy 2-day portions. Voila ! A healthy snack for your beastie !;)
I eat these often. i cook them up in the pan with just a bit of salt and pepper. the meat is very lean, and to get the best flavour out of it, i cook up the lean with some of the fat on a pre-heated pan. afterwards,i lightly season with salt and pepper. almost as good as a real steak!
