Recently BRAT was asked to help re-home three basenji pups from a going-out-of-business breeder in Omaha, NE. We were unable to find foster homes before the group who rescued them, so we offered them a courtesy posting. These adorable pups are now vetted and ready to be adopted. No doubt! I'm sure some people think I'm nuts with the amount of baby gates I have. Counter surfing Ridgebacks & Foster B… gate @ the kitchen Sighthounds in general .. gate @ the front door and while Kira was around, gate to my sewing area because it can get darned expensive to replace that stuff! :D

I want a tri so bad. He is a beautiful boy was he on there before he seems familiar. I view bratt every day several times a day. The other that facinates me is tut he is so different but beautiful. I wish hubby was with me on fostering I would love to do that.

I feel like people need to be just as careful when choosing a rescue as they are when choosing a breeder. Rescues have been found to be hoarders, to be breeders labelling their dogs as rescues as a marketing ploy, or like PETA, to kill 97% of animals they "rescue". The impression I got of this rescue was that it was not one I wanted to work with because they seemed to hold some extreme views. I am delighted to hear that I was wrong and that this is a good rescue. The situation with the "breeder" is horrible, and I am glad this girl is finally being cared for. I agree that the breeder has earned herself a place in you know where. After Estelle passed away while my MIL was in the process of trying to adopt her she is a little gun shy. It is amazing how attached you can get to an animal you haven't even met. -Nicole

I wanted to get Roo but I have a couple family members that have been ill and don't want to have to board a newly arrived furry friend. So … we will wait to adopt again.

@ChaseandZahrasmom: I just have to comment on what a beautiful website this is! Yeah - the folks in this group are wonderful and supportive for the Basenji breed. We adopted Daisy from them. Did anyone see how beautiful the B's are? They still need homes.
