  • They are so adorable! That is quite a litter :)

I love the photo of Tink trying to make a break for it! Haha. Too cute!

  • Ahh yes, I believe Tink has now taught Talker to climb as well!

  • You're lucky if you only have 2. My first litter, every one of them would escape. It started with Heart and Rio, they would be out of the whelping box even though their eyes weren't open. After their eyes were open it didn't take too long for them to get over the short barrier we had so Rally could easily get to them. We then went to a baby gate, they were over that by 5 weeks. We switched to a plywood barrier so they wouldn't have foothold. So they would be in an ex-pen in the puppy room and have the second barrier across the doorway and by 8 weeks we would every couple of days find an escapee. Granted the barrier had to be low enough that Rally could get in because she absolutely hated not being able to check on them.

Even now when I go to a lure trial people call Rio, Popcorn, because if I open the top of the ex-pen she leaps into my arms.

  • I'm expecting the tri to start to climb too. Bubba probably won't as he's the most laid back. But Sugar will climb out of an x-pen-even with a lid on. I don't leave her in one at all, because it doesn't matter who she's with she will climb out. People didn't believe me until they saw it one day-she bent the top to get out. I'm surprised they didn't start earlier, but at least I've had a reprieve from it a bit longer than you Lisa!

  • @nomrbddgs:

Bubba is still unsure about the gruel and would prefer to have Mama feed him for the rest of his life!

Ha, ha, ha…this cracks me up. Between you and Pat's "not mother of the year" ...and might I add, that sounds like some grown men that I know. :D

  • Gosh, they are too cute!!!! I picture Bubba's voice to be like one of the puppies in 101 Dalmations. The one who sayd, "But Mama, I'm hungry. I am." or something to that effect. LOL.

  • 5.5 Weeks

    Indi

    Talker

    Tink/Lilo

    And, Of course, Bubba

  • They are all so beautiful. Did you say you were planning on keeping one?

    Pat

  • They are all looking good. Bubba is still standing out for me but I also like Indi. :D

  • I'm looking at one of the boys. Bubba looks good, but Talker is starting to look better too. Indi looks good too, but I think if I was going to keep a girl, it would be Tink/Lilo. She has the better face of the two.

  • It would be hard for me to pick just one!!

  • here's the 6 week update Bubba climbed to the top of the x-pen today 4 feet!

Pat, Can you see the evil??? Bwaaaaaahhaaaaa

  • Beautiful, beautiful. Puppies are looking real nice. Looks like that lil' Indi is very independant, not snuggling with the rest just out exploring.

  • I've found that like colours stick with like colours. Indi is the odd girl out in most cases.

  • They are all just adorable! I like Indi because she's the odd one out :)

  • oooooooo… can you send Bubba to me with the mail?????

Just put some stamps on.... please.... :D

  • Everyone likes Bubba-not too bright, but what a bundle! Even the name-Bubba suits him.

  • Couldn't resist!

Indi, Tink, Bubba and Talker underneath.

  • After reading about Josie and Bindi, I thought I'd better update everyone on the Damisi/Sugar situation. As many of you know, I did have problems with Sugar and Damisi before Sugar had the puppies. They were constantly snarking and they had to be watched. Many people warned me that they would probably not want to be together after the puppies. I am very happy to report that Sugar and Damisi are much more relaxed now with each other. They have played about 3 or 4 times together. Running, jumping and play fighting. I'm so happy with this, but so sorry for you Robyn with Bindi and Josie. Sugar is now much more relaxed .

Seems like the DNA sample would be easier to get too. I guess the advantage of the sperm count is that you at least know if the sire is fertile or not. Good luck, can't wait to see pictures of the pups to be.

4 sounds like a very manageable number.. I will keep my fingers crossed that they will come out in colors wished/hoped for. Either way they will be absolutely adorable, I am sure of that.

Thanks Andrea and Robyn, That was helpful. Zoni isn't horribly mouthy but I definitely have some more work to do with her. I carry a nylabone in my pocket for the occasion.

Based solely on these photos, I would rank Bella and Dean the highest but Clark and Flash are certainly not far behind. This is a fabulous litter. I love them all.

@satieo: I was just curious, I saw the thread about ages of bitches but what about males is/should there be a cut off age for them? Obviously they shouldn't be younger than 2 for proper testing. No cut off age… as long as they are potent... I used a 14yr old with one of my litters and it was a natural cover.
