    I took Zahra out to potty this morning in my front yard, the neighbors have put up an adorable scarecrow. Zahra spotted it, started this low strange sort of growl noise, her back hair was standing straight up and she was starring it down. :eek: I could not get her to move, when I walked her back into the house she stood at the door doing the growling thing like it was going to come to our door and ring the door bell! LOL!

    I guess I will have to walk her over there this afternoon and show her that the scare crow is not real however it looks like it is doing its job! LOL! :D

    Oh, I love that. I can totally see it.

    One of our walks, there was one of those "party here today" balloons tied to a street sign, and we were walking along routinely when it FLAPPED in the wind. Curie hit the dirt, flat, and then took off at top speed in the other direction. I'm convinced she thought it was a bird of prey.

    Ah ok cool thanks, I had something like that when Safi was smaller and it was the most successful for sure. She outgrew it quite quickly though

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    We use ones from Rukka. Not sure if they’re available everywhere but they are they best ones we have tried (others always fell off, especially in deep snow). I think having two Velcro closures on each sock has been key. I also prefer the soft shell ones as our B seems to accept them more and they don’t twist as much as the ones with a hard sole.     My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.
