Basenji Forums Screensaver

Show Off Your Dog
  • Dear Basenji Forums Members!

We had great feedback about our Basenji Forums screensaver and would like to produce another version of this free screensaver for everyone to enjoy. We run the current screensaver at work all the time and have gotten multiple people commenting how great those dogs photos are.

Now it's time for you to share with us those amazing Basenji photos that you have been collecting. Don't have one yet? There's still time for a last minute photo shoot! We want to see your BEST Basenji pictures.

    • Photo must be high quality and digital. This means about 1612x1024 pixels. If you submit a photo and the resolution is too low, we won't be able to consider it because it will not look good in a screensaver.
    • Photos must include at least one Basenji as the main subject (no people in the photos, please).
    • Photos should be visually stunning and horizontally oriented (the photo should be wider than it is tall).
    • You must own the rights to the photo. The photo must be taken by you (or a family member).

To submit a photo, please email it to basenjiforums.photos@gmail.com, we will accept the photo if it meets the above criteria. Please make sure to include your forum username and dog name in the subject line of the email.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at admin@basenjiforums.com. You can submit as many photos as you'd like, but please make sure they meet our criteria before sending them in.

You can download the current version of our screensaver here.

Hi everyone, Thanks for all of your replies! Rex just had his first vet visit (first with me at least), and he was given a clean bill of health. The vet that I saw also agrees with a lot of you that he looks like a Min Pin more than a Basenji, but he is likely still mixed with something because he's a bit too big to be a pure Min Pin. I've looked at a few DNA Dog Breed tests online, and they seem to range in price and in quality. It seems like some of the cheaper (~$50) tests are fake, but they go all the way up to almost $250 for the higher quality ones. Do any of you have experience with these DNA tests / have a brand you found reputable? I'll be sure to post the results of any of the tests with this forum! Thanks again, and Rex is doing really great in his new home!! [image: 1559586518913-img_3707-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586546977-img_3720-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586568474-img_3708-resized.jpg]

No idea, sometimes with mixes it's so hard to tell what the parentage is. I do think that your dog's head is a bit more refined than many of the pit mixes i've seen.

I agree with the others that although he seems to have Basenji in him - his head is def. not Basenji. As for the leg I'd have it amputated if it troubles him - He'll cope with 3 legs I'm sure, but certainly consult a specialist first. Please keep us updated.

Congratulations, we didn't make it this year… But there is always next year!!! BTW, does anyone know why there are only 10 Top pics??? Shouldn't there be 12, or are the last two a "surprise"? Another question: Bella wasn't in 2009 calendar, but I still don't know if she was featured in 2008 because I didn't have my computer. After entering, It crashed...:( Does anyone still have the 2008 so they can check for me... I am curious about it still.

She is sooooo cute!! At first I thought "how fuzzy!!!"….and the more I looked the more I thought this looks like a punk-rocker Basenji:D A little hair gel and a little vegetable dye with a spike collar and spike ankle bracelets......what a great halloween costume:) Adorable dog. Thanks for sharing.

We got Killian from a breeder in Ohio–-Jim Edgerton. That's where he had gotten our previous male basenji. We took Logan and Jasmine to his place and looked at several 1 year olds and a puppies and Jasmine eliminated the others and we agreed with her pick.
