New Africans at Basenji Park

Show Off Your Dog

  • Let me introduce these new African Imports…..Angali (red female) and Asuma(Tri Male). These are from the Democratic Republic of Congo in the area of a city named Ngilima, in the Dungu village......they came from the Zande tribe.
They have just arrived, my wife and Son picked them up (with the help of..... JYS1101..... thank You:) ) in NYC last evening.

The folks that went to Africa to get these and some other pups, spent eight days in the jungle.....they paid $6.00 for each.

    Greetings from Basenji Park

  • The tri is amazing. They look so much like regular basenji's. I guess breeders here have not really changed the breed that much.

    So what are they like?

Are they just like your others?

    Are they people friendly

  • OMG!! That is soooo cool! How great that you guys can be involved! They are lovely! How are they adjusting?

  • I had the pleasure of escorting the Basenji Park Staff to pick up these precious little pups :D I have to tell you they were AMAZING…I almost didn't want to let them go home. DH was disappointed he didn't get to meet the pups :( but it was late & the staff had to get back to Basenji Park for closing :D

The r/w female was SO adorable & licked everyone who carried her & then snuggled in your arms for some shut eye.

The Tri boy has the most beautiful velvet coat I've ever seen on a B  he was too precious!! And a sleepy boy too :)

Hi everyone, Thanks for all of your replies! Rex just had his first vet visit (first with me at least), and he was given a clean bill of health. The vet that I saw also agrees with a lot of you that he looks like a Min Pin more than a Basenji, but he is likely still mixed with something because he's a bit too big to be a pure Min Pin. I've looked at a few DNA Dog Breed tests online, and they seem to range in price and in quality. It seems like some of the cheaper (~$50) tests are fake, but they go all the way up to almost $250 for the higher quality ones. Do any of you have experience with these DNA tests / have a brand you found reputable? I'll be sure to post the results of any of the tests with this forum! Thanks again, and Rex is doing really great in his new home!! [image: 1559586518913-img_3707-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586546977-img_3720-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586568474-img_3708-resized.jpg]

You are in Florida… a sad hotbed of byb/puppymill country. Yep agree with the rest, looks basenji to me too. You might contact Pam Hamilton because she'll know if you are in the hoarder area. I'll ask her to check in here.
